Dehydrated Apples

If you have invested in a dehydrator you know all the benefits that come from having one. I have the Excalibur Dehydrator and love it!
Dehydrated apples are a great way to preserve fresh apples so that you can enjoy snacking on them all winter long. They make a great on-the-go snack and are yummy tossed into some warm oatmeal.

Dehydrated Apples

  • Author: Tammie Duggar

Ingredients

Scale

915 apples

1/4 cup unsweetened pineapple juice

Instructions

Wash apples and peel, core and slice into 1/4″ slices. (you don’t really have to peel apples, just do what you prefer.)

Dip apple slices into pineapple juice. (I have found that pineapple juice keeps fruit from browning a lot better than citric acid or lemon juice and has a sweeter flavor.)

Place apple slices on dehydrator trays in a single layer.

Dehydrate according to manufacturer’s suggested time.

Store in an airtight container.

One tray in the Excalibur Dehydrator will hold about 3 apples. So depending on how many tray you have that will tell you how many apples to use in this recipe. 🙂
