Caramelized Nuts

Caramelized nuts are a perfect crunchy sweet treat. They make a delicious addition tossed into a salad or as a garnish for creamy soup.
I don’t typically cook with sugar and i’ve tried adapting this recipe using other sugar options, but with this recipe you just have to use the sweet stuff and remember not to over indulge.

Caramelized Nuts

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup raw nuts (walnuts, pecans, almonds)

¼ cup sugar

1 tsp. water

pinch of sea salt

1 tsp. cinnamon

Instructions

Heat a skillet over medium heat.

Add the above ingredients together into the skillet. Stir continuously over medium heat until sugar melts.

Remove from heat and stir well to coat.

Pour out onto parchment paper to cool.

When completely cool, store in an airtight container
