Fruit Leather

Ingredients

Scale

3 cups of coarsely pureed fruit- apricots, strawberries, peaches, etc.
1 Tbsp Raw Honey, optional
1 Tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice
2 Tbsp Unsweetened Applesauce

Instructions

Place fresh fruit in a food processor or high-powered blender and pulse until coarsely pureed.

Add the remaining ingredients into the processor along with the 3 cups of coarsely pureed fruit.

Process until mixture is smooth and pourable.

If drying in the oven, prepare a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. If using a food dehydrator, use silicone mats.

Preheat the oven to the lowest setting, usually 170 degrees.

Place in the oven and cook until no longer liquid or sticky. Depending on your oven, this usually takes 3-5 hours. (Follow your dehydrator instructions for cooking times and temperatures.)

Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.

Remove parchment paper from baking sheet and cut leather and parchment paper with kitchen shears into individual serving sizes, I like to make 2″ X 6″ strips.

Roll up leather and parchment paper together. Use a small piece of tape to keep them rolled.

Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks. Refrigerate or freeze for longer storage times.
